Karen Kelliher, MS

 

Karen holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Rochester.  She has worked in the mental health field since 1976.  Karen’s background and experience are broad and diverse.  She has worked as a social worker in a nursing home, a crisis counselor for troubled youth, a substance abuse counselor, and a residence manager helping mentally challenged adults achieve independent living.

 

Karen has facilitated therapy groups for depressed adults, coordinated a socialization skills program for the emotionally challenged, functioned as a primary therapist in group and family counseling, conducted group therapy for spouses, and presented lectures on effective communications.

 

Karen’s value as a counselor is her ability to establish a therapeutic trust and motivate clients to become empowered and invest in themselves.
